Ralph & Juana Laub Break the State Record with a Center Street Win!!
In a thrilling UGPG weigh-off, Ralph and Juana Laub from Vernal, Utah, broke the state pumpkin record, surpassing Mohamed Sadiq’s 2022 mark by just 2 pounds with a colossal 2,289-pound pumpkin. This victory marks their second UGPG triumph, having first won in 2016 at Hee Haw Farms.
Grown from the 1940 Urena seed, their pumpkin exceeded estimates by nearly 7%. The Laubs, who have competed in UGPG weigh-offs since 2011, also hold Utah’s state records for watermelon (2,017.5 pounds, 2016) and cantaloupe (54 pounds, 2022). Huge congratulations to the Laubs for an outstanding pumpkin season!
