🎉 Matt McConkie Breaks State Record with a Massive 1169 Pound Pumpkin!
The crowd went wild as a new state record was announced at Thanksgiving Point. Matt McConkie broke the old record of 1104, set by Kenny Blair in 2006, by 65 pounds to set a new standard for Utah pumpkin growers. This was only Matt's third year growing giant pumpkins and he beat his own personal best by a whopping 858 pounds. His pumpkin was grown off the 1161 Rodonis 2007 seed. Congratulations to Matt for an incredible year and an incredible pumpkin.
